How to make simple syrup:
1. Combine 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a low boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
2. Once sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and allow to cool fully. Maybe be stored sealed in the refrigerator.

  • Yield 1 cup simple syrup
  • Any amount of simple syrup can be made. Just use equal amounts of cane sugar (white sugar) and water and follow the recipe steps.
  • Usually 1-2 tablespoons simple syrup is used in coffee soda (just a guide).
  • The recipe amount of simple syrup is generally good for 8-16 glasses of coffee soda (or other uses).
Nutritional Facts
The nutritional calculation does not include sweetener since it is optional and different types and amounts can be used.
Variations
Use flavored coffee! Use regular coffee, your favorite blend or seasonal coffees to change up the flavor.
Any type of coffee can work. Regular coffee made any way and espresso both work.
Sweetening the coffee soda. Like iced coffee or cold brew, coffee soda usually needs a bit of sweetening. You can use a favorite sugar replacement or simple syrup. Simple syrup is a mix of sugar and water and because it's a liquid it mixes into drinks perfectly (that's why it's usually used to sweeten cocktails). It's easy to make at home and to flavor it too.
Seltzer water can be used too instead of club soda!
Coffee ice cubes for extra caffeine. Freeze some coffee in ice cube trays to use instead of regular ice!
Add some orange peel. Try a small piece of orange peel to add some extra flavor!
Add a splash of milk, cream or creamer. Do you normally take a splash of creamer in your coffee? Add it to your coffee soda!
