Air Fryer Sea Bass

Buttery easy Air Fryer Chilean Sea Bass cooks in 15 minutes with no marinating. An Asian-inspired glaze is brushed on at the end of cooking for a golden crispy exterior, delicious flavor and tender flaky fish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chilean sea bass cut into 2 or 3 fillets (see Notes)
  • Olive oil spray
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons soy sauce regular or gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon mirin or aji mirin
  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons grated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F.
  • Lightly spray the sea bass with olive oil spray and sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
  • When the air fryer is heated lightly spray the basket with olive oil spray to prevent the fish skin from sticking.
  • Place the fillets in the air fryer basket, skin side down, with space in between.
  • Cook for 10 minutes at 380 degrees.
  • While the sea bass cooks make the glaze. Combine the soy sauce, mirin, ginger, garlic and maple syrup. Whisk to fully mix together.
  • After the 10 minute cooking cycle gently brush the glaze onto the tops and sides of the fish.
  • Cook an additional 2 minutes at 380 or until the internal temperature of the sea bass reaches 135 degrees F.
  • Gently remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

Serving size
A typical serving size is around 7 ounces so a 1 pound fillet can be halved or for smaller portions cut into three fillets (if starting with 1 1-pound fillet) or if cooking 2 fillets, halve them after cooking for 4 servings.
Note if cutting a 1 pound fillet into 3 smaller fillets it will cook faster depending on the thickness. Monitor and adjust cooking time as needed.

All sizes and brands of air fryers cook slightly differently. Monitor cooking time and adjust as needed to ensure the fish reaches 135 degrees internal temperature.
How to Store
Store leftover cooked fish in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
