Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are moist on the inside and with a crunchy cornflakes crust. They taste like fried chicken without any frying. A lower calorie tender recipe that's packed with flavor. Oven method included too.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins
  • 2 eggs
  • cup cornflakes crumbs
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder non aluminum
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Avocado spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  • Place the eggs in a small bowl and whisk.
  • In a second medium bowl combine the corn flake crumbs and all the spices. Mix well.
  • Pat the chicken tenders with paper towels to absorb any moisture.
  • One by one, dip a tender into the eggs to coat. Then add to the seasoned corn flake crumbs to coat on both sides. Place gently on a plate.
  • Repeat for all the tenders stirring the coating mixture between tenders.
  • Place half the prepared tenders in the air fryer basket and lightly spray with oil spray.
    Cook at 400 degrees for 6 minutes.
  • Gently flip over (to not disturb the coating) lightly spray the tops and cook 6 more minutes.
  • Remove and serve warm.

Notes

Pro Tips
Stir coating between tenders to keep spices from sifting to the bottom.
Use a two handed method. One hand to only dip the chicken into the egg, the other to dip only into the coating. Otherwise it can get messy.
Oven method
To make the chicken tenders in the oven, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the coated tenders on the prepared pan with space in between. Cooke at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
Storing leftovers
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to crisp the outer coating or in the microwave.
