Air Fryer Apple Chips

Crispy Air Fryer Apple Chips are a healthy, low calorie snack that's easy to make. Weight Watchers friendly and a family favorite recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¾ teaspoon ginger powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 large apples rinsed, dried and cut into ⅛-inch thick slices with a mandoline slicer

Instructions

  • In a small bowl combine the cinnamon, ginger and salt. Mix to blend.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 300 degrees.
    Place the apple slices in one single layer (not overlapping) in the basket of the air dryer. You will cook the apple chips in multiple batches.
    Sprinkle cinnamon, ginger powder, and salt on top of each slice.
  • Cook at 300 ˚F for 10 minutes, turn the apple slices over using tongs every 5 minutes. If the slices are golden brown at 10 minutes they are done. If not cook a few minutes longer. Do not burn.
  • Remove the apple chips from the air fryer (they will not be crisp yet) and place on a wire cooling rack to crisp up (1-2 minutes).

Notes

Ingredient Notes
Apple do not need to be peeled before cooking. Rinse and dry before slicing with a mandoline slicer. They can be cored before cooking if desired.
Cooking time: between 10-15 minutes per batch. One large apple is approximately 3 batches depending on the size of the air fryer being used.

How to make in the oven
• Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F.
• Place the apple slices in one single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle the spice mixture on top of each slice.
• Cook for 2 ½ to 3 hours until the apple slices are crispy, turning over halfway through cooking.
How to Store
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. They may soften while stored. Because they are not fully dehydrated they need to be refrigerated.
