Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup non-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F.
  • Spray a 7-inch pan (preferably 1 ½-inches tall) with non-stick cooking spray. For other options refer to the Notes section below.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  • If using any additional ingredients stir them in now.
  • Add the egg mixture to the pan, and place the pan in the preheated air fryer.
NOTE: a shorter pan (1 ½ inches tall) place the pan into the air fryer basket first and pour the egg mixture into the pan using a ladle or liquid measuring cup to avoid spilling.
  • Cook for 12-16 minutes or until a knife or toothpick inserted in the center is no longer wet.
  • Allow the frittata to sit for 5 minutes after cooking before cutting.

Notes

*note on serving size: the serving size is ⅙th of a large frittata. If making in two ramekins that is the equivalent of 3 servings. If making in 3 ramekins that is equivalent of 2 servings. The serving size is for nutritional information purposes.
What pan to use?
The great thing about this recipe is that it can be made as one large frittata or mini frittatas (great for portioning).
For one large (6 servings): use one 7-inch pan. Shorter side pans create the best results in our testing. If possible use a 1 ½ inch tall pan. I've made the frittata in each this cake pan and pizza pan. Both work but the pizza pans make the fluffiest result.
For two: use two 6-ounce ramekins
For three: use three 4-ounce ramekins
Always check the fit of the pan(s) you'll use in your air fryer before filling them to ensure they'll fit.
Pro Tips
Add foil if browning starts. While the frittata cooks if the top begins to brown too much place a piece of foil over the top.
Every air fryer cooks slightly differently. Use the cooking times as a guideline. Each type of air fryer will cook in a slightly different period of time.
Shorter sided pans cook faster. In our testing when making one large frittata we found those made in higher sided pans needed to cook a bit longer than those in shorter sided pans.
May need longer cooking time if adding more ingredients. Monitor for doneness by inserting a knife in the center. Add more time if needed. Being at higher altitude can also require longer cooking time.
For shorter sided pans or ramekins: it's easier to place the prepared pan in the air fryer than pour the egg mixture into the pan. Use a liquid measuring cup to direct the pour.
